I’m just going to name the thing here. I started writing (and reading) again because tbh, I use AI for a lot of the organizational, mathematical and… not gonna lie, critical thinking for me lol. It’s honestly made my life easier and has helped my self diagnosed ADD brain just be more organized. That being said, if I keep going this way, I may end up with early onset alzheimer's. So I do what I can, where I can. And it starts here. Writing to you, who commited to hearing from me on a regular basis 😘.
If you’re new here… Hi, I’m LJ and I help buisinesses and entrepreneurs write content that feels and sounds like them through The Well Being Agency. If you’ve hit the same wall everyone else does trying to get a consistent newsletter out there on your own, this is for you. And don’t worry, this isn’t an 8 Step, pin it and save it for later kind of guide. This is everything I do to stay consistent and just what gets a newsletter out the door and in your brand voice!
A platform can change its algorithm or your reach overnight, an email list stays yours. An email lands directly in an inbox. A social post is filtered by an algorithm before anyone sees it at all. A newsletter is where your actual story and expertise fit. A caption doesn’t have enough room for that.
When I closed my last business, I felt the hit of the algorithm and I had to start fresh on my platform. My saving grace was my email list which I moved to my Substack platform. It’s allowed me with maintain and grow my reach on here, share my life, and pitch my new ventures with you.
The hardest part with getting started is figuring out where to start. I struggled with this for a long time. I was always waiting for the ‘perfect article’ and constantly over editing, never sending. I used to sound ‘professionally robotic’ 😅 and struggled to just sound like Me… let alone get my message across. I couldn’t stay consistent because I never knew what to write about and there was never a plan to follow. Then one day, I figured out a formula that worked and it made the whole process feel less overwhelming. It didn’t need to feel like each newsletter had a grand ol topic I had to compete with each time. My formula gave me ease and flow to just creatively write.
So I put together a short guide that covers exactly this. What to decide before you write a word, how to sound like yourself instead of generic AI copy, a fill in the blank template you can steal, and a checklist to run before you hit send. No fluff, no theory, just what actually gets a newsletter out the door.
